Biography

Candidate Statement: I am a 16-year-old girl, fluent in Welsh, and I’m currently in my first year of studying my A-levels in Psychology, German, English Literature, and Maths. I like acting, reading, and painting. When I was 2, my brother was born with profound and multiple learning disabilities and health complications. He needs to use a wheelchair and is unable to communicate. As a result, my family and I receive support from Tŷ Gobaith and Im delighted to be able to represent both Tŷ Gobaith and Tŷ Hafan in the Welsh Youth Parliament.

I aim to better support young people’s mental health because of the correlation between learning difficulties and mental health issues. I also wish to provide better healthcare as people with disabilities are far more likely to require treatment or surgery from the NHS. Finally, I also wish to improve the quality of public transport because of the increased reliance disabled people have on public transport.

I hope that during my time in the Senedd I can make a difference in the lives of disabled children and their families across Wales and make sure people’s voices are heard.
