Candidate statement: I have always been interested in trying
to solve issues in the world around me, and when I look at the world today, I
see the problems in Afghanistan, discrimination against people of different
races and the LGBTQ+ community, and the stigma surrounding mental health. That
is the reason why I chose this key issue.
I chose mental health issues in schools and the impact of
schools on people’s mental health, because there is so much stigma around it.
It is an important issue because two out of six pupils in any school are
suffering from a mental illness such as depression and anxiety across Wales,
and something needs to be done to solve this.
I chose Global Warming issues and the impact we are having
on the planet, because the world is dying and we are living in this world,
therefore if there is no planet, there will be no future for us. This is
important because global warming is our own fault, and we must fix it.
I chose LGBTQ+ issues because there are too many sad stories
regarding people's reactions to the LGBTQ+ community, and schools can play a
big part in supporting and assisting the young LGBTQ+ community.
As a member, I would help to ensure that the voices of young
people are heard.
Please vote for me, to speak as a voice for the young people
of Wales. Thank you.
