Tilly was returned to the Welsh
Youth Parliament in 2024 representing Brecon and Radnorshire having served in
the Second Welsh Youth Parliament (2021-2024).
The following was her candidate
statement for the 2024 election:
Hi, I'm Tilly and growing up I
noticed that unless I spoke up I wouldn't be noticed which made me the loud-
outspoken person I am today. Which is what I plan to be able to do for young
people in Wales if I get elected again this year. Being elected previously gave
me that opportunity to speak out and while still achieving so much, there’s
still so much more yet to be achieved and I would love to be able to do so. As
my confidence grew during my time in the WYP I feel that i can truly make the
most of it if I’m elected again. My first issue is over-reliance on exams. This
issue is one that hits close to home and I think the only people that can urge
this change is us. During exam season it is clear that students are presented
with too much pressure on their exams which is so harmful to their mental
health, previously being a member of the mental health committee has shown me
the big issues that are still lurking that need to be fixed. Which is why
mental health is also one of my issues.

The following was her candidate
statement for election to the Second Welsh Youth Parliament in 2021:
My key issues are:
- Gender equality
- improving children/teens mental heath
- Care/respect for the environment
Candidate Statement: I want to
be a Welsh youth parliament because I want to make a difference. I am very
confident and won’t hesitate to speak up about what I think is right. If you
vote for me I will make sure that a difference will be made. I will help young
people’s voices across Wales be heard. I will reach people using social media
so that their voices are guaranteed to get heard. I have already made an impact
in my school by being a form rep.
I believe that sexism is a
massive issue in schools across Wales. For example in PE girls have to do
different sports to boys and vice-versa. Gender should not limit or define you.
As a young person myself i know
that metal health is an issue. Children should be able to have someone to speak
to so that they don't feel alone.
As the pandemic begun the
environment has become more clean but as we start to ease back into normality
it won’t stay like that. I want to help children get outdoors and clean the
environment .If I’m elected I will make sure to encourage more litter picking
in my area.
