Candidate Statement: I'm Lloyd Warburton and I’m hoping to
be Ceredigion’s next member of the WYP. I’ve got a strong interest in local and
national politics and have always had the ambition of standing up for
Ceredigion at a national level. Since 2017, I have passionately supported
independence for Wales, and since then have become much more interested in
specific local issues. I will speak up strongly for young mental health,
re-opening the Aberystwyth-Carmarthen railway, as well as for the rural
environment, particularly the litter problems in our county. I will actively
provide updates on my work on social media and be easy to contact over social
media and other means regarding ANY issue that’s important to young people in
Ceredigion. I can bring people together, listen to both sides of any issue and
analyse data and evidence very carefully, often spotting things that others may
not. Since March 2020, I’ve kept track of and posted updates on Wales’s
COVID-19 situation on social media, which has attracted a following of more
than 20,000 people. I can also speak Welsh, making me an ideal person to
represent our beautiful county. I look forward to serving all of Ceredigion’s
young people.
