Leaola was a Member of the second Welsh Youth Parliament

The following was her candidate statement for election to
the second Welsh Youth Parliament:
My key issues are:
- Improve
educational opportunities for students
- Young
people's well being
- Encouragement
of sport participation
Candidate Statement: I’m Leaola,
17, a positive, approachable and confident character, with an evident passion
to be involved in communities and build strong rapports which is an invaluable
method to consult young people. I will endeavour to impact critical changes in
Welsh strategies and positively affect the lives of young people in Wales by
improving the educational opportunities available to students, improving
provisions/ education surrounding your well-being, and focus on improving
participation in sports. Being the representative for Alyn and Deeside would
not only be valuable for myself but I strongly believe I would make a great
representative for my community as well to bring about much needed changes. I
want to represent each one of you no matter if you're 11 or 18, fluent in welsh or not.
I’m adamant that you, as young adults, get the freedom that
you deserve to make a difference to your country and your future. Opportunities
for young people to have their say and make change are restricted, even more so
following the last year, but I want to change that. It would be a pleasure to
represent you, to make sure voices are heard and acted upon. Your Vote, Your
Voice, Your Future.
