Kelsey Hannah Brookes

Kelsey was a Member of the second Welsh Youth Parliament from 2021 to March 2023.

The following was her candidate statement for election to the second Welsh Youth Parliament:

My Key Issues are:

• Laws to protect dog breeding
• BSL on the national curriculum
• More sustainable products

I would like to be a youth parliament member because I think it would be a great experience and I am very passionate about things, I believe that I am a great candidate to help make change for a better future.

I will always listen to other people’s opinions and respect them even if they differ from my own.

I will ask a variety of groups of young people what their thoughts, views and concerns are, to make sure that their opinions are taken into consideration and so that they are heard.

I believe I would make a good youth parliament member because I am passionate, kind, considerate of other people’s opinions, caring I respect other people’s views. I believe in equality and that everyone deserves to be heard.
