Candidate Statement: I believe in creating a better Wales,
which provides the best opportunities for all children and young people in
Wales. I believe that everyone is born equal. Every child should have the same
opportunity to reach their full potential in education, no matter what their
background. We must seek to eradicate child poverty and have regard to the
health and well-being of all children. Protecting our environment should be
everyone's priority. To do this we must learn to live more sustainably by
ending single use plastic, promoting the transition from fossil fuels to
renewable energy such as wind, solar, hydro and tidal energy to create a
greener Wales. We should create a network of cycle lanes throughout Wales, that
make it safe and easy to travel to school or to work. I strongly believe in
listening to the views of others, discussing and weighing up the options before
coming to a decision. If the world were a fair and equal place, I wouldn't be
making this nomination but because it isn't, the young people of Wales need to
take responsibility to improve our world. I believe that politicians and
politics are the key to this change.
