Candidate Statement: I wish to be a Member of the Youth
Parliament because I’d like to play an active part in shaping young people’s
futures in Wales. As someone who has links with local youth organisations, I am
aware of the issues that matter to young people, so I feel qualified to support
them. I’m a member of the Urdd Youth Forum, Gwynedd and Môn Music Groups and
the Young Farmers’ Club. Also, I consider myself to be a strong candidate
because I believe in taking advantage of all opportunities and experiences that
come my way. I was one of the founders of the Caernarfon Urdd group, I coach
younger teams in netball and I organise gigs for young people. In addition, I
am an individual with firmly held beliefs. I work for a community enterprise
and I volunteer at local events of a sustainable and cultural nature. These
experiences have enabled me to develop my communication and networking skills,
as well as my organisational and problem-solving skills. I am also the ideal
candidate because I am a conscientious and dependable person who believes
strongly that young people’s voices should be heard in shaping our future.
