Caleb was a Member of the first
Welsh Youth Parliament from 2018 to 2021.
The following was his candidate
statement for election to the first Welsh Youth Parliament:
My Key Issues are:
Independence for Wales
Free female hygiene products
Second Brexit referendum
I want to be a member of the
Youth Parliament because politics is such an important part of society. I feel
that this needs to be promoted amongst the young people of Wales, especially in
rural areas. Our voice is just as important as everyone else’s, and although we
cannot vote, I hope that this will change in the near future. In this
generation, social media is vital to the way that we communicate, and I will
ensure that different groups and forums for the young people of Ceredigion can
have their say. I will also hold monthly meetings and talks in different places
in Ceredigion to hear everybody’s voices.
The young people of Ceredigion
should vote for me because I will fight for some of the hot topics of modern
Wales and always fight with the rights of young people in mind. I have a strong
and confident personality and I’m always ready to fight my corner. I am a loyal
member of the young farmers and I compete in public speaking competitions at
Ceredigion and Wales levels, and have thus gained the experience of public
speaking with a number of people.
