Candidate Statement: Hello, my name is Poppy Jones, and I’m
a sixth form pupil at Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen. I believe passionately in politics
and feel that I have the skills to represent my area at the Senedd in Cardiff.
I have a keen interest in education, the environment and the NHS, things that
are very important to us as young people. If I were to be elected I would go
straight to open social media accounts such as Twitter and Instagram where you
could contact me to share articles and pictures.
I’m an open-minded person and like to listen to other
people’s ideas. I believe I have the confidence and communication skills to
voice my opinion and get my message over. It would be a huge honour to
represent Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen and Arfon at the Senedd in Cardiff. Wales and the
world are facing enormous challenges in future and I would like to be able to
contribute to solve these challenges and to ensure that the voice of young
people in Arfon are listened to. Because of the above, it would be my greatest
privilege to decide to vote for me.
