Recently I felt voiceless and powerless when the local
council voted in favour of permitting a biomass incinerator. When I found out
about all of the risks that the incinerator would cause to the health of young
people, I felt a desire to make a difference. I am very concerned about our
environment and people’s health. It is therefore necessary to challenge the
Welsh Government’s decision to permit the dumping of nuclear waste from England
off the coast where we will be swimming.
I want to represent young people about their problems and
I'm keen to have a say in the decision regarding the medium of the new primary
school at Barry Waterfront. This is a huge decision for the future of the Welsh
language and the education of our young people. I would hold meetings and
maintain an online presence in order to hear the views of the constituency's
young people. I will also find out what matters to young people by consulting
thoroughly with them, and being reasonable and consistent when representing
them. I have become used to discussing and debating, as well as listening, by
participating in the school debate club, and I would like to have the
opportunity to represent my peers and make a difference.
