Candidate Statement: I believe young people have a lot of
potential and insight to better our community and create change, unfortunately,
that can often be overlooked. Understanding, community, and collaboration are
key elements that I would apply as a Youth MP who is determined to advocate for
the concerns that young people care about. Based on the feedback from
conversing with young people in my area I've identified important issues I wish
to address. An issue I feel strongly about is mitigating the long-lasting
mental, financial, and academic impact of Covid-19 on young people. I aim to
create more educational support and mental health access for students in
schools across the county. Secondly, I wish to create safe Youth spaces for
young people. Having both safe and entertaining services where they can hang
out and limit children seeking harmful amusement. Through educational workshops
that are both engaging and informative, I wish to educate young people and
create more understanding surrounding topic.
