Candidate Statement: Growing up on the Welsh and English border, I went to English primary schools, yet attend a Welsh high school. There are so many parts of my history I do not know, as it was never taught in high school : only primary schools I never went to. An aim of mine is to change the high school curriculum to teach more history centric to our country, so those children like me can understand who they are to an extent further than their English heritage.
Being LBGT+ and female, I have experienced an amount of discrimination, which is almost inevitable. However, I believe, with an education changed to touch on the suppression of these groups, the intolerance they face in future generations could decrease. Allowing me to become a member would give those like myself a voice they've rarely had before.
