Candidate Statement: I am an adaptable, observant student
who is good at problem solving and connecting with people. I like exchanging
ideas and speaking in public and want to make a difference in the multicultural
community where I live.
I studied in High School in Turkey before coming to Wales as
a refugee. I have taken a course in Turkish Sign Language, and cooking, I have
studied and enjoy drama and like sports, reading, learning about current
affairs and different cultures.
I am now in high school in Cardiff, and I enjoy
volunteering, am creative and have enjoyed making short films and learning
digital skills.
I care about issues affecting young people in Wales and am
happy to be a Welsh Youth Parliament member. I am happy to be part of future
solutions for the issues I’m passionate about:
• Discrimination
- equality is the most important human right
• Eating Healthy
- not knowing how to eat and cook healthy, adversely affects young people’s
health.
• Underage
smoking - vaping which may be more serious than smoking is being taken up by
young people who don’t know the harm it can cause
