Candidate Statement: I am a member of the Digon Group which
is a Partner Organisation at the next session of the senedd. I was keen to
represent the group to ensure that the views of my peers, especially LGBTQ+
young people are given a fair consideration in important issues in Wales.
Digon meets weekly. This gives me a forum to discuss easily
with group members as well as talking to the rest of the school through
assemblies and mentoring sessions to ensure that I represent them to the best
of my ability.
I'm an excellent communicator and listener. This comes from
my training in drama and music. Through these studies I have learnt the
self-discipline needed to ensure that I can present ideas in a way that suits
the particular audience, whether primary school children or adults. I am confident speaking on a number of topics
affecting the LGBTQ+ community and have recently made a presentation on the
impact of HIV/AIDS during the 80s and 90s to the present day. I'm looking
forward to getting started!
