Candidate Statement: As the current Wales YFC youth forum
chairman I am passionate about uplifting the voices of young people, especially
in rural communities. As a forum for young people, run by young people we know
that one of our main issues is the lack of facilities and infrastructure that
we as young people in a rural area are faced with, limiting our opportunities
for a brighter future. We are a farming movement and we can achieve a
sustainable Wales through the adaptation of traditional farming methods and
bring in new innovative ideas to combat climate change. Mental health is a
major topic for young people today and we are striving as an organisation to
provide adequate resources to support young people who may be struggling. As
members of YFC we have several positive attributes like public speaking and
debating skills as well as being ethical and empathetic young people, so who
could be better for the job?
