Anwen Grace Rodaway

Anwen was a Member of the first Welsh Youth Parliament from 2018 to 2021.

The following was his candidate statement for election to the first Welsh Youth Parliament:

My Key Issues are:

• Environmental issues – reducing plastic use
• Homelessness – reducing effects of poverty
• Autism – better diagnosis/awareness/understanding

I want to represent you on the Welsh Youth Parliament. I have a strong desire to make a difference for young people in Wales and especially Gower.  I am a welsh speaking girl with autism, girls on the spectrum are generally undiagnosed and underrepresented and I want to help change that.

I love music, dancing and playing sport. I always give my best. I am kind and caring and am always willing to help. I have a keen sense of fairness and I believe I can help make Wales a more compassionate place to live where everyone is treated equally.

I want to hear what you think. I will use social media for you to contact me with your ideas and suggestions and I will ask schools and organisations working with young people to help me find out what you’d like me to help change for young people and future generations in Wales.

Gower is a wonderful place to grow up however, we face many challenges if we want to make sure it stays this way. We must work together to protect the environment and wildlife on and off shore. Please vote for me for the Wales we all deserve.
