Earlier in the year you told us you wanted a youth parliament to represent you and today we’ve got some exciting news!
We asked you what you wanted to call your youth parliament – today we can announce the name you chose is…
The Welsh Youth Parliament.
We can also tell you that your Welsh Youth Parliament:
- Will hold its first elections in November 2018.
- Will have 60 Members representing you on the issues you care about.
- Members will be aged between 11 and 18.
We’re also making sure that your Welsh Youth Parliament will be an impartial voice, by making it completely independent from all political parties.
SO WHAT NEXT?
Well…we’re working on setting the date that you’ll be able to register to vote for your Youth Welsh Parliament Members (YWPM)
Plus we’re looking at when and how you can put yourself forward to become a YWPM, if that is something that you‘d like to do.
